Premisut PGCL suture being absorbable in nature gets absorbed in the tissues by means of hydrolysis, during which the Poliglecaprone-25 polymer is degraded into monomers of adipic acid which is eventually absorbed and metabolized in the body. This process of absorption initially leads to progressive loss of tensile strength, followed by a loss of mass.

Premisut PGLAR-910 suture is intended for use in general soft tissue approximation where only short term wound support is required and where rapid absorption of the suturewould be beneficial. Due to the rapid absorption profile, Premisut PGLAR-910 suture is useful for skin closure, particularly in paediatric surgery, episiotomies, circumcision and closure of oral mucosa. Premisut PGLAR- 910 suture is also useful for conjuctival suturing in ophthalmic surgery.
