UHMWPE

Overview
Premisut UHMWPE suture (UHMWPE), is a sterile synthetic multifilament braided non-absorbable surgical suture prepared from fibers of Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene. The braided suture is made up of dyed and undyed fibers of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene. Dyed fibres are black in colour, dyed with carbon black. Premisut UHMWPE suture is also available as a flat/tape braided suture; and flat and round braided suture construct, with width range of 1mm to 6mm.
Premisut-UHMWPED
Premisut UHMWPE suture is intended for use in soft tissue approximation and/or ligation. These sutures may be incorporated, as components, into surgeries where constructs including those with allograft or autografts tissues are used for repair.

Premisut UHMWPE suture being braided enables secured knots. It elicits a minimal initial inflammatory reaction in tissues which is followed by gradual encapsulation of the suture by fibrous connective tissue. Premisut UHMWPE suture is not absorbed, nor is it subjected to degradation or weakening by the action of tissue enzymes.
